چکیده

Magneto-optical materials are the fundamental component of Faraday isolators; therefore, they significantly important for solid-state laser systems. Fluoride magneto-optical crystals such as CeF3, KTb3F10 and LiTbF4 exhibit advantages wide transmittance range, high optical homogeneity, smaller thermal lensing weaker induced depolarization effect, thus promising candidates isolators in high-power lasers. Recent progress crystal growth characterizations these fluoride introduced. Possible applications based on various discussed, especially lasers ultraviolet (UV) or infrared (IR) spectral region.

Magneto-photonic Crystals for Optical Sensing Applications

Among the optical structures investigated for optical sensing purpose, a significant amount of research has been conducted on photonic crystal based sensors. A particular advantage of photonic crystal based sensors is that they show superior sensitivity for ultra-small volume sensing. In this study we investigate polarization changes in response to the changes in the cover index of magneto-opti...

On optical bleaching of barium fluoride crystals

Barium fluoride (Baf2) crystals were considered by the GEM Collaboration, to be used in constructing a precision electromagnetic calorimeter at the SSC [1] . The key issue of using this crystal at the SSC is its radiation resistance [2] . An Expert Panel was assigned by the SSC laboratory to review the radiation damage problem of BaFz. The Panel met in December 1991 and again in January 1992 fo...

development of different optical methods for determination of glucose using cadmium telluride quantum dots and silver nanoparticles

a simple, rapid and low-cost scanner spectroscopy method for the glucose determination by utilizing glucose oxidase and cdte/tga quantum dots as chromoionophore has been described. the detection was based on the combination of the glucose enzymatic reaction and the quenching effect of h2o2 on the cdte quantum dots (qds) photoluminescence.in this study glucose was determined by utilizing glucose...

Enhancement of the Magneto-Optical Kerr Effect in One- Dimensional Magnetophotonic Crystals with Adjustable Spatial Configuration

We studied magnetophotonic crystals (MPCs) with introduced magneticdefect layer sandwiched between magnetic and dielectric Bragg mirrors. Thesemagnetophotonic crystals have excellent capabilities to enhance reflection and Kerrrotation simultaneously. By adjusting spatial configuration such as repetition numbersof Bragg mirrors and thickness of magnetic defect layer, we a...

Magneto-optical defects in two-dimensional photonic crystals

We analyze the properties of magneto-optical defect states in two-dimensional photonic crystals. With outof-plane magnetization, the magneto-optical coupling splits doubly-degenerate TE states into two counter-rotating modes at different frequencies. The strength of magneto-optical coupling strongly depends on the spatial overlap of the cavity domain structures and the cross product of the moda...
